Catch OF The Month
January: Richard
Richard is excited over this catch! He tells us that after the photo was taken, this big Murray Cod was returned to the water to continue breeding. Richard says: "It is the first Cod I have caught (after 20 years of fishing the river) and my mates and I have changed from bait to lure fishing the last 3 years which has produced bigger and more fish. My mate Greg ably assisted in boating the fish which we estimated to be 30kg (70lbs) & 1m+ in length." Magnificent catch Richard, congratulations to you and your mates! Well done on being awarded the Catch of the Month winner for January!

Good Bye to a faithful friend.....

Hopefully everyone had a great New Years eve and have now recovered enough to get out over the next few days and get stuck into some of the great fishing that is on offer at present.
Best of all the weather is looking like it is going to be great this weekend!
Port Phillip Bay
Snapper reports have slowed a little over the past week with more anglers reporting marking lots of fish on the sounder but not getting as many to eat baits.
Saying that though some anglers have still had some great catches.
Good customer Steve Rando and his son Paul along with their mate Chris headed out last Friday for a snapper session. Fishing in 19m off Ricketts Point at the area known as the Gasso, the boys stayed away from the big crowd of boats to find there own patch of fish and it paid off big time with an insane session on the snapper. The boys ended up keeping there bag of 9 snapper and released a further 21 with the best baits being red rockets. Needless to say young Paul is now well and truly hooked on snapper fishing and speaking with him the other day his next fish to conquer is a gummy shark.
